I meet with the Welsh Language Commissioner regularly to discuss how her work contributes to the Government’s targets of having a million Welsh speakers by 2050, and to increase the use of Welsh. The Commissioner and I have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which outlines how the Welsh Government and the Commissioner will collaborate effectively to implement the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 and how both bodies will contribute jointly to meet the objectives of Cymraeg 2050, the Government's Welsh Language Strategy.
