Welsh Government’s Advice on respiratory viruses including COVID-19 for staff in health, social care and special schools | GOV.WALES provides guidance on how to manage the risks associated with respiratory infections, including COVID-19, in closed settings such as care homes. Further guidance specific to care homes is provided in our Social Care Guide to Managing Acute Respiratory Infections. This advice is relevant to staff in local authorities.

In addition, we work closely with Public Health Wales on guidance around Infection, Prevention & Control, which is key to minimising the risks associated with COVID-19 and other respiratory infections. Relevant guidance can be found here: Infection prevention and control measures for acute respiratory infections (ARI) including COVID-19 for health and care settings - Wales.
