What assessment has the Minister made of the impact of food inflation on the free school meals scheme for primary school children, which is part of the Collaboration Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru?

Funding for local authorities to deliver the universal primary free school meal offer is currently set at £2.90 per meal per pupil. I have committed to a review of this unit rate, which will include consideration being given to the impact of food inflation. The review is underway and will report later in the year.

The universal provision of free school meals in primary schools is being carried out in collaboration with Siân Gwenllian MS, the Plaid Cymru lead designated member, as part of the Co-operation Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru.
