On the basis of the latest assessments, how much money does the Welsh Government expect to receive in its budget at the end of the current financial year?

The second supplementary budget for 2020-21 published in October detailed total Welsh financing of £24.9bn of which £19.9bn relates to the Departmental Expenditure Limit (DEL) fiscal funding provided through the Welsh Block Grant.

The total block grant funding for 2020-21 will be confirmed as part of the UK Supplementary Estimates due to be published by the UK Government in early February.  The Welsh Government’s budget position for 2020-21 will then be set out in the third supplementary budget to be published on 9th February.

Our latest estimates are that additional funding previously agreed with the UK Government in respect of £31m for crucial flood repairs and £0.8bn reflecting the balance of the £5.2bn guaranteed funding for Covid-19 measures will be added to the Welsh Block this year.
