Will the Minister state what targets have been set for Cwmni Egino?
Up to £2.5m has been allocated to support the establishment of Cwmni Egino and its work activities over the next 2 years. The funding will be primarily used to support Cwmni Egino’s legal and technical fees, in pursuing an appropriate land development lease with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and in procuring an optimal small modular reactor (SMR) technology for the site. Detailed work packages and their funding will be determined in conjunction with the interim CEO once appointed.
Practical milestone targets have not yet been set – these will be agreed with the CEO once appointed. Projects identified to date however have the potential to create up to 700 on site jobs and attract up to £3bn in investment.
