Will the Minister make a statement on when under 65s will be able to have a flu vaccine this year?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 06/10/2020

On 24 July 2020 I announced Wales’ largest ever flu vaccination campaign. The extended campaign will see more people than ever benefit from the free flu vaccine programme. To meet the potential increased demand for flu vaccination, additional supplies of injectable flu vaccines have been procured for the UK. This vaccine will be available in Wales from mid-November and will firstly be targeted at increasing uptake amongst the priority groups, with the ambition of reaching 75% uptake this season. The vaccine will then be offered to the under-65s in phases, with the ambition to vaccinate down to 50 year olds, if stock levels allow.
