Will the Minister confirm whether the Welsh Government is planning to match the UK Government's £50 cycle repair voucher offer as part of their public health plans to tackle obesity?
We do not plan to offer a similar scheme here in Wales. The Department for Transport (DfT) scheme administered by the Energy Savings Trust is only available to residents of England and bike repair workshops there.
However, we continue to work with our partners to explore the options available to support active travel and healthier lifestyles. This will include utilising programmes such as our National Exercise Referral Scheme.
The Healthy Weight: Healthy Wales Strategy sets out the long term plan for preventing and reducing obesity in Wales. I will shortly be publishing revised priorities for 2020-21, taking into account the Covid-19 pandemic, which will outline our priority areas for this time.
