Will the First Minister commit to ring-fencing 100 per cent of the money Wales receives from the Zoo Support Fund, which has been established in England, to support Wales’s zoos and aquariums?

We do not expect to know the exact funding for Wales until these adjustments are reflected in the UK Government Supplementary Estimates towards the end of this year.  In line with Welsh Government policy, consequential funding is not ring fenced and is allocated in line with Welsh Government priorities reflecting the needs and circumstances in Wales. In the current circumstances, consequentials are added to the fighting fund we have established to support public services and the economy through this crisis.

Zoos and other animal attractions in Wales have been able to access a more generous package of support than they would have had through a sector specific scheme and several weeks before the UK Government announced the fund for England on 4 May.
