Will the Minister provide the current status of the following road improvement schemes for consideration in mid Wales; bypasses for settlements in Builth Wells, Rhayader, Newbridge on Wye, Llanrwst and the cross-border Pant-Llanymynech bypass?

The Bypasses of Builth Wells, Rhayader, Newbridge on Wye and Llanrwst are not included in the National Transport Finance Plan and there are no plans for their introduction to any future delivery plans.

We have provided funding in conjunction with Midland Connect to prepare a Cross Border Strategic Study to look at how any future transport interventions in the mid Wales / West Midlands transport corridor could best be provided.  The results of this study will be formally published in the next few months.  The Pant & Llanymynech Bypass will be one of the interventions that will that will be considered by this report.

We continue to press the UK Government to jointly work with us to improve cross border road connectivity. Our discussions have included improvements to the A483 at Pant & Llanymynech.
