What action will be taken to support the areas in Conwy which are in the most deprived 10 per cent areas in Wales?

Our regeneration programmes are providing or enabling £800 million of investment between 2014 and 2023 to support over 50 towns across Wales to rebuild and refurbish buildings and public spaces as well as tackle empty properties.

The North Wales region has been allocated £22 million Targeted Regeneration Investment (TRI) funding over three years with the region identifying 4 priority towns for a programme of targeted regeneration projects. Wrexham, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Bangor have been identified as the region’s priority towns in the North Wales Regeneration Plan 2018-21. Officials are working with the local authorities on the delivery of a number of key projects to include retail, commercial and residential improvements. Building for the Future (BFF) will assist in the regeneration of town centres and the surrounding areas by tackling derelict, under-utilised land or buildings. More than £7.2m BFF funding has been allocated for North Wales coastal towns.

Through our Economic Action Plan we are working to turbo charge the Welsh economy, spread opportunity and tackle inequality so we can ensure the benefits of sustainable economic growth are felt as widely as possible.

Programmes such as Flying Start, Communities for Work, the Pupil Deprivation Grant and Families First are vital in narrowing the gap between our most deprived and thriving areas.
