Will the Minister state how many children in Wales received Bobath therapy in 2016/17, 2017/18, & 2018/19, and explain what steps the Welsh Government is taking to improve accessibility to the treatment?

The Welsh Government does not routinely collect this level of information.

Cerebral palsy in children is a complex condition with many different forms.

The neurological conditions delivery plan sets out a continued focus on the delivery of patient centred services for people with neurological conditions. I expect the actions and measures set out in the plan to make a tangible difference to the care people of all ages receive with neurological conditions, such as cerebral palsy, including access to appropriate treatment and support.

Welsh Government is piloting a cerebral palsy register in Wales in November 2019.  A cerebral palsy register is a confidential research database of clinical information about people with cerebral palsy.  The main aims of the register would be to monitor and report the changing rates of cerebral palsy, gain further understanding about the causes of cerebral palsy, evaluate preventive strategies, and assist in planning services for children and adults who have cerebral palsy.
