National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Notes the 20th anniversary of Energy Ombudsman.
2. Recognises its 2006 voluntary establishment before mandatory supplier participation was required in 2008.
3. Congratulates Energy Ombudsman on supporting more than one million consumers – including 50,000 in Wales – over this period.
4. Welcomes its expanded remit supporting consumers of energy brokers and heat networks as well as small businesses.
5. Supports recent moves to shorten complaint journey times, strengthen decisions and improve accessibility.
6. Acknowledges its role in providing a free, independent and impartial service that drives energy sector improvements and boosts consumer confidence.
