National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Notes that UCU Cymru announced a marking and assessment boycott, following on from its dispute on pay and conditions.
2. Notes the disproportionate response of many Welsh HEI vice-chancellors in imposing deductions of up to 100 per cent of pay.
3. Believes that, far from bringing the dispute closer to a resolution, these actions damage industrial relations and worsen disruption by effectively forcing staff to take strike action, further harming student interest.
4. Asks Welsh Government to urge Vice Chancellors of Welsh HEIs to act in the spirit of social partnership and meet unions at the negotiating table.
