National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Welcomes the acknowledgement from the Minister for Health and Social Services of the need to reinvigorate the drive to eliminate hepatitis C following the COVID-19 pandemic.

2. Understands that whilst the Welsh Government is still committed to its goal of eliminating hepatitis C by 2030, it recognises that annual treatment targets were not met prior to the pandemic, and that the pandemic’s impact has created testing and treatment gaps, which puts that target date at risk.

3. Believes the Government should direct and resource health boards to design and deliver local elimination plans supported by regular data reporting mechanisms and performance measures.
