National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Notes that the overturning of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision by the US Supreme Court removes a woman’s right to decide when and whether to have children.

2. Believes that although the law has changed, it will not stop abortions and will lead to the deaths of many more vulnerable women.

3. Notes that many laws now planned by state legislatures will ban abortions in the case of rape or incest.

4. Calls on the Welsh Government to:

a) condemn entirely this reversal of women’s rights

b) reassert that women in Wales and across the world have fundamental rights to control their own bodies.
