National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Notes that Children’s Hospice Week takes place this week;

2. Commends the vital work of Tŷ Hafan and Tŷ Gobaith to provide palliative care for terminally ill children in Wales, and emotional and respite support for their families;

3. Notes that hospices in Wales currently receive 5 per cent of their funding from the Welsh Government, while government funds 21 per cent of hospices’ costs in England, 25 per cent in Northern Ireland and 50 per cent in Scotland.

4. Calls on the Welsh Government to carry out a review of the funding formula to ensure hospices in Wales are properly funded.
