National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

a) acknowledges the guarantees the UK Government made to the Allied Steel and Wire steelworkers in Wales that their pensions were safe and fully protected no matter what difficulties employers have;

b) notes the cross-party calls for the UK Prime Minister to intervene to put an end to this pension injustice and his indifference to those pleas;

c) notes the Parliamentary Ombudsman found the UK Government guilty of maladministration;

d) believes that UK governments have a moral duty to pay the pensions the workers paid into in full.
