OPIN-2020-0176 The Welsh Wool Pledge (e) Tabled on 18/09/2020

This Senedd:
a) regrets that farmers have received as little as 28p a fleece, less than the cost of shearing – an unavoidable cost;
b) welcomes the fact that the Welsh Government has committed to considering the more widespread use of wool in its estate;
c) calls on the Welsh Government to consider making the use of Welsh wool mandatory in domestic and public buildings, support farmers in developing the wool insulation market further and encourage the use of Welsh wool by the fashion industry; and
d) pledges to do everything possible to promote the use of Welsh wool.
