What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the extra amount of money Wales will receive as a consequence of the UK Chancellor’s summer statement?

Wales will receive £12.5 million in new revenue consequentials directly related to the UK Chancellor's summer economic statement and no additional capital funding. Any suggestion that Wales has received an extra £500 million is misleading as it includes funding already announced and measures we have already funded in Wales.

Will the Minister make a statement on Welsh Government support for businesses in the hospitality sector in Wales?

Our £1.7 billion business support package, which is equivalent to 2.6 per cent of our gross value added, complements other UK schemes and means that companies in Wales have access to the most generous offer of help anywhere in the UK. More than 60,000 businesses across Wales have also received grants from the business rates scheme, worth almost £730 million. Many of these will be in the hospitality industry.

What plans does the Welsh Government have to improve transport links to the new Grange University Hospital when it opens in November 2020?

Transport to the new Grange university hospital has been integral to the planning of that site from the very beginning. We want to make sure that patients, relatives and staff from the whole of the catchment area are able to find their way in a timely fashion.

What steps will the Welsh Government take to address concerns of a surge in road traffic journeys as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted?

I have allocated £15.4 million to local authorities to introduce measures to improve safety and conditions for sustainable and active travel modes and to achieve sustained changes in future travel behaviour. Newport County Council will receive £600,000 of this.
