What are the Welsh Government’s priorities for improving access to public transport in Pontypridd Cynon Merthyr?

Our priority is to make public transport easier to use, more affordable and better connected, so people in Pontypridd Cynon Merthyr can reach jobs, education, health services and opportunities with confidence.

This Government is focused on visible improvements: delivering the South Wales Metro, improving interchange at Merthyr, making buses more affordable for young people, and investing in local schemes that strengthen everyday connectivity across the Valleys.

What is the Welsh Government doing to secure a fair, fully funded pay award for local government employees?

I am sure we all recognise the work and value of local government employees. Pay for local government staff is negotiated nationally between employers and trade unions across Wales, England and Northern Ireland, and Welsh Ministers have no role in those negotiations. We continue to provide significant funding for councils to help maximise the resources available to support fair and affordable pay awards.
