The sustainable farming scheme supports Welsh farming by promoting sustainable, efficient livestock and food production. It will invest in soil health, grassland management, animal health, habitats and woodlands, all of which are crucial for the long‑term resilience of the sector. These measures also help sustain a stable, productive livestock industry.

How is the Welsh Government supporting communities in South Wales Central who are facing the risk of flooding?

We will provide a record £77 million to flood risk management authorities across Wales this financial year, 2025-26. This includes over £10 million to risk management authorities in South Wales Central, which will be used for improvement works to flood risk management infrastructure, benefiting approximately 8,000 properties.

We promote Welsh food and drink through the Food & Drink Wales brand under the Cymru Wales identity, using coordinated social media, and media partnerships, and key events like St David’s Day and the Royal Welsh showcase of Welsh products and celebrate national food and drink culture.

What assessment has the Cabinet Secretary made of the environmental impact on Wales of implementing the projects identified in the UK Government's AR7 funding round?

We are delighted that two Welsh offshore wind projects have secured contracts in the latest UK contracts for difference auction. Both projects have received their marine license from Natural Resources Wales who have carried out a thorough assessment of the proposed projects in consultation with the relevant statutory nature conservation body.

Will the Cabinet Secretary make a statement on the revaluation of business rates for the tourism and hospitality sector?

Revaluations maintain fairness in the system and do not increase revenue. To support ratepayers, we are providing £116 million in transitional relief over the next two years, in addition to our permanent reliefs. Sector representatives estimate that around two thirds of hospitality properties already attract full relief.

What assessment has the Cabinet Secretary made of the impact of the Welsh Government's budget for 2026-27 on communities in north Wales?

The 2026-27 final budget delivers for the whole of Wales, including community in north Wales. It provides certainty and stability for essential public services, increasing funding for our NHS and strengthening local services through increased council funding. It protects vital bus links and invests in skills, housing and prevention to help communities face the future with confidence.

What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with the UK Government regarding the Barnett consequentials for Wales as a result of funding for railway projects in England?

The £445 million rail investment announced in the UK Spending Review is a welcome first step towards addressing historical underfunding of rail in Wales. Whilst most rail infrastructure remains non-devolved, we continue making the case to UK Government for a fairer share of funding to improve connectivity within Wales and with other parts of the UK.
