Will the First Minister make a statement on Welsh Government support for social enterprises in Vale of Clwyd?
Social Business Wales are currently actively supporting 53 social enterprises in Denbighshire. Social businesses play a vital role in creating an inclusive and sustainable economy, anchoring wealth within local communities and promoting well-being. The Welsh Government provides active support for social enterprises through Social Business Wales, which offers specialist advice and access to funding to help businesses start, grow and scale successfully.
Will the First Minister provide an update on redevelopment plans for the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Rhyl?
The health board have submitted a business case for phase 1 of the Royal Alexandra Hospital scheme for a new build on site. Final confirmation around planning permissions and costs are expected by early December when formal advice will be prepared for ministerial consideration. If all approvals are granted, building would commence early in 2026. A refurbishment and improvement programme at the existing grade II listed hospital is also planned.
What discussions has the Welsh Government had with the UK Government regarding the devolution of the justice system to Wales?
We have had a series of positive discussions with the UK Government on the devolution of youth justice and probation services, with more to take place this month and next. Following the announcement that police and crime commissioners will be abolished, we have written to the UK Government to reiterate our position that policing should be devolved to Wales.
