National Assembly for Wales

To propose that the Senedd:

1. Notes the continuing crisis of young people not being in education, employment or training and the long-term scarring impact this has on their future health, earnings and life chances.

2. Welcomes the increased participation of young people in further education colleges across Wales, including rising demand for vocational and technical education.

3. Recognises the financial pressures on colleges to meet record levels of demand this academic year.

4. Calls on the Welsh Government to publish an impact assessment for not funding increased participation in the 2026-27 and 2027-28 academic years, and to commit to prioritising further education in the 2027-28 budget-setting process.
