What steps is the Welsh Government taking to help provide a strategy for developing the on-land infrastructure required for marine renewables in Pembrokeshire?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Welsh Language | Answered on 07/05/2024

The Marine Energy Programme supports the marine renewables sector and aims to deliver significant socio-economic benefits to Wales. This work sits alongside the work on maximising opportunities for the supply chains and skills as well as ensuring the needs of our grids in Wales is evidenced.

We have provided £1million of matched funding to both ABP Port Talbot and to Milford Haven to kick start the process of strengthening port infrastructure.  The £60 million Pembroke Dock Marine programme under the Swansea Bay City Deal, has also supported zero carbon marine energy innovation in Pembrokeshire whilst also helping tackle climate change.
