Following reports that Ineos locating to Bridgend will initially create 200 jobs, what assurances can the Minister give that those losing their jobs at the Ford engine plant will be assisted in gaining employment with Ineos?
Through the ‘People’ work stream of the Ford Taskforce that I established alongside the UK Government, and through Ford itself, relevant agencies that can provide support for all employees under threat of redundancy are engaged in the ongoing work of helping to secure employment opportunities, such as those which will be created by the Ineos Investment.
An offer of Welsh Government financial assistance is conditional upon a number of project milestones, including number of jobs created. Projects that do not achieve agreed milestones can be subject to clawback clauses.
