Will the Minister investigate allegations that the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust has cancelled patient appointments due to being unable to accommodate wheelchairs, and if so, explain what action the Welsh Government will take to stop this?

The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust cannot cancel appointments and I am unaware of any systemic issues. It is inevitable, though, that a small percentage of the three quarters of a million journeys undertaken each year by Non Emergency Patient Transport Services may need to be cancelled for a variety of reasons.
I will ask officials to explore directly with the Chief Ambulance Services Commissioner should the Member wish to provide specific detail relating to her concern.
