Will the Minister provide details of the Welsh Government's budget for the Welsh Language Division for every financial year since 2010/11?
The Welsh Government budget for Welsh Language for every year since 2010-11 is summarised in the table below. For 2019-20 the budget is based on the Final Budget 2019-20 and budgets for prior years based on the Second Supplementary Budget published for each specified year, for the Welsh in Education, Welsh Language and Welsh Language Development Actions.
From 2012-13 onwards, the budget includes funding for the Welsh Language Commissioner established in April 2012. From 2017-18 the budget includes the recurrent transfer of £5.4m from Higher Education for Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, and £5m funding for Cymraeg Gwaith and promotion from the 2017-18 Budget agreement with Plaid Cymru. The budget for 2018-19 and 2019-20 includes an additional £1.5m per annum: £0.5m to improve provision of bilingual education resources and £1m for Mudiad Meithrin as a result of the two year Budget agreement with Plaid Cymru.
