Does the Minister have any plans to establish a national action plan to guarantee that people living in South Wales Central with Dystonia get the right treatment at the right time?

The Neurological Conditions Delivery Plan published in 2017 sets out the Welsh Government’s wider vision for supporting people living with a neurological condition.

In June, I will be meeting with the Dystonia Society Support Group, the chair of Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board and Vikki Howells AM to discuss the current treatment options for dystonia patients and any issues there may be around the sustainability of future treatment.

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer has also written to Swansea Bay and Cardiff and Vale University Health Boards to seek reassurance about the support available to patients living with Dystonia, including the provision of botulinum toxin injections.
