Will the Minister confirm how much Welsh Government money has been provided to Cardiff Airport since the Welsh Government took the decision to purchase it in 2013?

Since its purchase, the Welsh Government has provided commercial loan facilities to the airport up to the value of £38.2m – this financing will be repaid to the Welsh Government with interest.

Due to the removal of e-Passport Gates by UK Border Force in 2018, Welsh Government also provided grant funding to the value of £1.015m for the re-installation of e-Passport Gates and for safety and security works at the airport.

Last year, Welsh Government also made an equity investment of £6m into the airport company, which has allowed the business to continue to grow towards this year’s target of 1.65m passengers.
