Why is the Welsh Government pursuing a timed ban on slow vehicles using the A55 when there are no other feasible east-west routes along the north Wales coast, and explain whether implementing specific pull-in lay-bys for slower vehicles would be a feasible alternative?

My officials are currently investigating whether there is a need to prohibit slow moving vehicles on the A55, in its entirety or on part lengths, this is because slow moving vehicles have been involved in serious collisions on the A55 and can also cause flow breakdown.

I disagree there are no other feasible routes, there are a few lengths where alternatives are limited and these will be taken into account.  We also feel laybys would not decrease the safety risks that these vehicles bring to high speed roads.
