What plans does the Cabinet Secretary have to raise awareness of the issue of electrical fires in homes among older people in Wales?

The Fire and Rescue Service already provides comprehensive advice on domestic fire safety, and carries out around 60,000 home safety visits every year. This programme focuses on those, such as older people, who may be at greater risk of fire; and each visit covers all risks that are relevant to the premises and residents concerned. However, there is no overall evidence that older people are at significantly greater risk of electrical fires in particular.
