Of the £50 million recently provided to health boards to reduce waiting times, how much will each health board need to repay if they have not been able to reach their agreed targets?

The publication of the March RTT, diagnostic and therapy waiting times on 17 May 2018 showed a 2% improvement on the all-Wales 36 week waits, a 69% improvement in diagnostic eight week waits and a 90% improvement in therapy 14 week waits compared to March 2017.

I can confirm that despite the in-year improvement, the following health boards did not meet the commitments they made when the £50 million was allocated; Abertawe Bro Morgannwg, Aneurin Bevan, Betsi Cadwaladr.  The three health boards therefore did not receive the following allocated amounts, £7.4 million, £2.9 million and £3.13 million respectively, a total of £13.43 million.
