National Assembly for Wales

This Assembly:

1) Believes that the DWP announcement that it intends to close local offices in a number of valleys towns, Newport and Cardiff North is a detrimental move for our communities and is not consistent with the Valleys Action Plan as it will move existing jobs out of the Valleys;

2) Supports the campaign to retain these DWP jobs in towns across the Valleys, Newport and Cardiff North;

3) Calls on the DWP to publish an equality impact assessment; and

4) Calls on the DWP to retain these jobs in town centres, in line with the valleys strategy, as they benefit from their presence.
