OPIN-2018-0085 Betrayal of the Windrush generation (e) Tabled on 18/04/2018

This Assembly:

1. Applauds the significant contribution made to communities across Wales by Commonwealth citizens who arrived in the UK in the 70 years since the arrival of the MV Empire Windrush in June 1948.

2. Notes with concern the problems caused to the Windrush generation by changes in UK Government immigration policy and Home Office mismanagement.

3. Recognises that these problems can include difficulty accessing public services, an increased risk of homelessness or unemployment and the threat of deportation.

4. Demands that the right of the Windrush generation to remain be legally recognised without delay.
