OPIN-2018-0111 Early Diagnosis of Heart Conditions

This Assembly:
1. Recognises the importance of early diagnosis of heart conditions in reducing the hundreds of deaths each year from conditions which are undiagnosed.
2. Notes the progress in recent years of non-invasive screening tests to identify vascular and cardiac disease in its early or asymptomatic phase.
3. Welcomes the role of Welsh Hearts in funding heart screening initiatives, with their mission to help protect and promote the heart health of young people in Wales.
4. Calls on the Welsh Government to explore rolling out a screening initiative to all young people in Wales.
