OPIN-2018-0108 Restart a Heart Day (e) Tabled on 08/10/2018

This Assembly:
1. Recognises Tuesday 16 October is Restart a Heart Day, when many learn cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillator skills.
2. Notes that in Wales fewer than 1 in 10 survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and the Welsh Government’s OHCA plan, in place since June 2017.
3. Welcomes BHF Cymru, St John Cymru and British Red Cross Wales schemes, which are teaching children across Wales CPR, creating a nation of lifesavers.
4. Recognises the vital role young people play in life-saving and notes, in the last year, thousands of secondary-age children have learnt CPR through their training schemes.
